This is part of St Paul Lutheran Church's 125th Anniversary celebration.
"Run/Walk/Roll" Run - this race will be professionally timed for the seasoned runners;
Walk - but is designed to get everyone involved;
Roll - strollers and wheelchairs (no bikes). Everyone can go the distance and at a reasonable pace.
$30 registration includes professional chip timing and t-shirt, plus proceeds benefit: 1)
Be the Match (about matching people for bone marrow transplants); and 2)
Proviso Pantry (one of the food banks serving all of Proviso Township).
Route starts and finishes at St Paul Lutheran Church. The course is level and winds through Melrose Park neighborhoods with large trees and well kept yards. It is our first attempt at hosting a race but the Village of Melrose Park is providing excellent support with escorts for the first wave of runners and support throughout the course, including seven officers on cycles. First Aid at Start/Finish. We'll adjust start/finish to get as close to 5K/3.11 miles as we can.
